POLICE are asking for the public’s help in tracing a missing man as people get out and about again following the festive period.

Haydn Evans, 18, from Mold, was reported missing by his family after failing to return home from a Christmas function at Carden Park Hotel, Broxton, Cheshire, on the evening of Friday, December 16.

His stepsister Jade Conway, 26, is a beautician from Ellesmere Port.

Extensive searches of the hotel’s remote rural setting and exhaustive enquiries with Haydn’s family, friends, and colleagues have failed to identify his whereabouts.

Inspector Barry Brown of Cheshire Constabulary said: “There are significant sections of the community who can really help us by reporting anything unusual they might see as they move out and about today.

“This includes dog walkers, who tend to walk in more remote areas, and hikers, off-road cyclists, as well as other people such as ramblers and recreational walkers who head off the beaten path.

“If you see anything which you think may be relevant, no matter how insignificant, we would like you to get in contact with Cheshire police.”

Haydn did not have a coat or jacket with him and the late evening of Friday, December 16, and early hours of Saturday, December 17, were extremely cold, with sleet and snow.

Insp Brown added: “We would also extend our appeal to local farmers and residents to check their outbuildings, barns, sheds and any areas of land where Haydn may have sought shelter in the cold weather.”

Haydn is white, 18 years of age, about 5ft 9in tall, with short dark hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured shirt and trousers.
