A MAN sporting a distinctive red cowboy hat has been caught on CCTV smashing a fence.

Police have released images of the man, who they would like to speak to in relation to criminal damage following an incident at about 5.45am on Sunday, May 6.

A group of three men were walking past an address in Cholmondeley Road, Ellesmere Port, when one of the group put down his bottle and charged at the fence, knocking it through with the force of his bodyweight.

He then picked up his bottle and ran toward Loxdale Drive, following his two companions who had already run away.

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 7ins and of average build.

He was wearing a white top with thin red stripes and a red cowboy hat.

The man was with two taller white men who are described as about 6ft tall.
