OBJECTIONS to a takeaway regaining its late-night refreshments licence will be heard by councillors.

The application has been made at Leungs Takeaway, 362 Chester Road, Little Sutton.

The takeaway held a licence until January this year when it was surrendered.

Licensing officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council say it is now seeking to restore what they had previously held.

The proposed opening hours are 4pm-midnight seven days a week, with refreshments being provided from 11pm- midnight.

Five objections have been received, all of which referred to customers congregating outside the premises.

One objector, Gary Newns, provided the council with a list of incidents said to have occurred at the premises after 11pm.

Proposed conditions include a litter bin being provided inside the takeaway, staff regularly clearing the premises and the area immediately outside the shop of litter and notices requiring customers to leave the premises and the area quietly and to avoid unnecessary revving of engines or sounding horns.

No additional conditions have been suggested to deal with the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.

The application is due to be considered at a meeting at the council’s HQ offices in Chester on Monday, December 17, starting at 10.30am.
