THE curse of Northwich Vics matches being televised has struck again as tonight’s Blue Square Premier clash at Woking has been called off.

The crucial encounter at the Kingfield Stadium was postponed after a full pitch inspection this morning revealed that the pitch was still too frozen.

The match was scheduled to be screened live on Setanta Sports with Vics set to receive £2,000 from TV rights money but once again the club will miss out.

The New Year’s Day derby at Altrincham also suffered the same fate due to a frozen pitch and was due to be shown live on the satellite channel.

Officials at Woking had hoped to rearranged tonight’s fixture to be played on Saturday but that has been decided against.

Vics have not kicked a ball now since the Boxing Day defeat to Alty at the Marston’s Arena.

The Woking game joins the growing list of postponements including league fixtures with Alty and Salisbury and the Cheshire Senior Cup tie with Barnton.

Vics are next in action on Saturday, January 17 when they play host to FA Cup stars Histon (3pm).
