STAFF at the Victoria Infirmary in Northwich received a surprise gift when The Chronicle and Sayers teamed up to present them with a delicious Pudsey cake.

The special edition Children in Need cake was given to us by the bakers, who asked for it to be donated to a worthy cause.

“We thought the hard-working staff at the Infirmary were thoroughly deserving,” said Chronicle Andrew Bowan.

And the tasty treat certainly proved a hit. Infirmary spokeswoman Ann Harvey said: “We want to say a big ‘thank you’ to the Chronicle and Sayers for the very kind donation.

“We’re very grateful for such a lovely gesture and it means a lot to them to be recognised for their hard work and dedication to patients in the Northwich area.”
