THE New Saints reserves stayed three points clear at the top of the Spar Mid Wales after staving off a fightback from Llanidloes Town to secure a 5-2 win at Victoria Avenue.

Gary Bromley and a Paul Marshall penalty had the Saints two up at the break, but Llani rallied in the second period through Matthew Savage's brace, before Mark Davies (2) and Rob Williams settled it.

Aberystwyth reserves kept up the pressure by winning 5-1 at basement side Kerry with Glyndwr Hughes, Ben Vangucci, Daniel James, an own goal and Richie Thomas on the mark. Duncan Davies pulled one back.

Third-placed Newtown reserves drew 3-3 at Four Crosses while Lee Robinson scored twice to help Newbridge beat Waterloo Rovers 6-1.
