JUSTICE Secretary Jack Straw has appointed new Justices of the Peace to serve Cheshire’s magistrates courts.

In Chester, Ellesmere Port & Neston they are: Jean Claire Banford; Roy Antony Baron; Suzanne Lesley Jones; Kenneth Mohring; Ann Patricia Murphy; Janet Kim Peters; Gary Terratta; Mark Andrew Turner; Glynis Elsie Walton; Deryl Anne Whiteside; Theresa Jane Whittingham; Stephen Martin Window and Caroline Young.

Anyone interested in becoming a JP should be aged between 18 and 65 and be able to attend court for around 12 days a year on a voluntary basis.
