Families looking for an affordable home to rent in Cheshire are being urged to register online so they can bid for six brand new properties in Winnington, Northwich, when they are finished.

Weaver Vale Housing Trust is nearing the completion of four new three-bedroom homes and two four-bedroom homes on Appleton Street and families can now register online to ensure that they can bid for one of the new homes as soon as they are available.

Housing manager for Weaver Vale Housing Trust Jackie Hodgson said: “The homes represent a great opportunity for families to move into a brand new energy efficient home at an affordable rent and with all the benefits that come with a social landlord. We expect demand to be high and would urge people to get online and register now so they can bid for the properties as soon as they become available.”

The development, being carried out by contractors Wiggett Construction, is transforming a former garage site into energy efficient family homes, all with off-street parking.

Jackie added: “We understand the difficulties that many families have in finding an affordable place to live in mid-Cheshire which is why we have invested in the new high quality homes.

“It is part of an exciting programme of development being delivered by the Trust that underlines our aim to invest in more affordable housing in the local area.”

The homes are one of four similar projects currently being carried out by the trust, which will also see new one bedroom flats at Granville Square and Kingsway in Winsford.

A fourth site is also being developed in Farm Road, in Weaverham, which will see another former garage site developed into six two-bedroom and one three-bedroom bungalows for disabled customers.

All the homes will be built to level 3 of the code for sustainable housing and will be allocated to local people through TrustHomeChoice.

This and the other three schemes are part of the JV North Consortia, which includes a number of Registered Landlords in the North West which will deliver over 1200 new homes before 2015.
