STAR students from Neston High School pitted their wits against the area’s best young problem solvers on Friday.

The school hosted the Rotary International Technology Tournament, organised by the Rotary Club of Neston, for the third year running.

Sixteen teams of four from local schools and colleges embarked on a day of problem solving, design and construction activities.

Judges from educational, engineering and technological backgrounds worked with students throughout the day, assessing their planning and teamwork, design analysis, realisation and project portfolio.

Neston High School were triumphant in the foundation level competition, for ages 11-14, while Wirral’s Upton Hall School took the intermediate and advanced level crowns.

Winning team members were presented withŠ gift vouchers, prizes and a cup for their school.
