SIXTH form students at Neston High School are hoping a local business will play fairy godmother and help bring their performing arts exam to the stage.

The Year 13 pupils are producing the pantomime Cinderella and – as well as performing all the roles – are learning about production issues such as securing sponsorship.

The talented teens are on the lookout for a generous business to offer sponsorship and donate a dress to make sure Cinderella can go to the ball.

Laura MacNamee, who is playing the heroine, said: “Ideally we would like a colourful ball gown. In return the business will be featured in our programme and in school newsletters and publicity will reach over 2,000 people.”

Performing arts coordinator Karen Higgins said: “It is great as it offers the students not only amazing performing opportunities, but also experience of the realities of producing theatre.

“They are working really hard.”

Any interested businesses can contact the students by emailing higginsk@nestonhigh.cheshire.sch.uk.

The pantomime will take place at 7pm on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 at the school. For tickets, email patickets@nestonhigh.cheshire.sch.uk.
