Missing girl spotted in car

A SCHOOLgirl missing for more than a fortnight has been sighted in Frodsham town centre in a car with an older male.

A SCHOOL girl missing for more than a fortnight has been sighted in Frodsham town centre in a car with an older male.

Charlene Diana Farrall, 15, was spotted with a man, believed to be about 18, in a white four- door saloon car which was in the town but turning towards Runcorn.

Charlene, of Long Looms, Great Barrow, was spotted on Sunday, September 16, at about 4pm by an acquaintance who recognised her immediately but did not realise she was missing until later.

Parents Diana and John, sister Melissa, 19, and brothers Daniel, 17, and James, 15, are facing their third weekend without their loved one and are said to be 'sick with worry'.

Police do not know the identity of the mystery male and are preparing an e-fit. But Charlene is known to have some older friends outside her life at Helsby High School.

They will hold a press conference with her parents next week if there is still no news.

Officers believe Charlene is alive and well but may not wish to return home, fearing she is in trouble for something which happened prior to her disappearance or because she has been away for so long.

Cheshire police spokeswoman Jacqui Hanson said: 'She has been missing a long time and we tried to think how Charlene would think. She might think she cannot go back now because she thinks she will be in a lot of trouble.

'I have spoken to Detective Inspector Neil Ellwood and he says that's not the case. She's not going to be in trouble for anything.

'She may think she will be in trouble for something she did before she left either at school or at home.

'Whatever might have happened before doesn't matter. Everyone just wants her to come back.'

Mrs Hanson says extensive inquiries have been carried out with Charlene's school friends and at Helsby High School where staff have been 'extremely helpful'.

Friends wonder whether she might now be in North Wales because it is an area she is fond of and where she has been on holiday with her family.

Charlene has gone missing in the past but only ever for a few hours.

Charlene is white, 5ft 5in tall, with brown eyes, a fair complexion, dark brown shoulder length hair (may now be dyed) and was wearing distinctive purple framed glasses.

When she left school on Thursday, September 13, she was wearing a school uniform - green skirt, green sweatshirt, white shirt and black shoes.

She was last seen wearing a cream Reebok sweatshirt, belonging to one of her brothers, which has a dark blue or black marking on the chest. She was sighted the following day outside the Forum shopping centre in Chester.

The man she was seen with is described as white, about 18, with a thin face and a shaven head but with dark stubble starting to grow through.

Anyone who sights Charlene or has information as to her whereabouts is asked to contact Chester police on 01244 613120.
