THE Grange Community Group is organising a St George’s Day fun day to be held on Saturday, April 23.

A parade, led by the Sea Cadets Band and Escada Morris Dancing Troupe, will start from the corner of Atherton Road and Princes Road at noon and continue down Regent Street to the William Stockton School field, where the fun day will be held.

The Group is looking for locals to support the event and help out on the day, if possible.

Residents around Regent Street will receive St George flags through their doors in the next week, so please support the event and wave your flag when the parade passes your house or join in the fun and follow the parade down to the William Stockton School field.

The Grange Community Group got together last year with the aim of organising some activities for young people in the area.

To date, the group has successfully put on a Hallowe’en event, Christmas parties and a family club at The Lunch Box Café in Deansgate.

It is hoped that more people will join the group and have their say on how services are delivered in the area.

Because of the success of the club, members are currently looking for a new home and hope to move into Flatt Lane Community Centre after Easter, so watch this space for more details.
