WELSH celebrity Chef Dai Davies from Llangollen, better known as Dai Chef, called in to Chirk Court residential home to serve up a lunch treat for residents.

Dai was visiting the care home, which is managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, to help the association with the selection of two chefs for Extra Care developments, due to open in Rhyl and Shotton early next year.

Dai supervised candidates as they served up a four-course lunch.

He also congratulated the Chirk Court cooks, Julie Dalby and Gill Roberts on receiving their Gold Award for food and hygiene standards.

“It was great Dai took time to meet the residents and they loved meeting him – the food was great too!” said Chirk Court manager Debra Roose.
