A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been issued with a restraining order and told to pay his ex-partner for repairs to her car after a bust-up over access to their child.

Thomas Patrick Walsh, 29, of Ash Grove, Weaverham admitted harassment at Chester Magistrates’ Court last week.

The court heard how Walsh, who has a young son with his former partner Joanne Goostrey, had gone to her house in Holmes Chapel Road, Sproston, to discuss access and to give her money on February 19.

A heated argument culminated in Walsh damaging a wing mirror on her Peugeot car.

A further incident took place after she reported the matter to police when he caused further damage, denting her car as well as being verbally abusive towards her.

This was followed by another incident when he turned up at her place of work, JobCentre Plus in Northwich, when he was abusive.

He was ordered to pay £1,128.15 after causing damage to the car, plus £250 prosecution costs.

He was also issued with a two-year restraining order preventing him from entering her home, garden or place of work with an additional requirement to attend a domestic violence programme.
