A balaclava clad robber brandished a gun during a robbery at a bookies in Little Neston.

Police are hunting for the masked man who entered Ladbrokes in Badger Bait as a male member of staff was closing up alone.

The hooded male produced what is thought to be a firearm and demanded money during the incident at just before 7pm on Sunday (December 21), say police.

The staff member opened the safe and handed over a large quantity of money.

The robber is then believed to have run off towards Lees Lane.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forwards and have released a description of the wanted man, who wore a dark hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and light coloured trainers.
