A BRAVE ‘Loose Woman’ took the plunge and dived with three-metre-long sharks during a visit to the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire Oaks.

Actress and TV presenter Denise Welch visited the award-winning aquarium to film a feature for the popular ITV daytime show which was broadcast last week.

Paul Renolds of the aquarium said: “Denise was a real star. She was understandably a little bit nervous but she still went ahead with the dive and enjoyed some close encounters with our resident sharks and rays.

“She’s such a character and it was a genuine pleasure to welcome her and the rest of the film crew.

“I’m sure her fellow presenters will be extremely impressed with her bravery.”

Denise has been co-hosting Loose Women since 2005 and is appearing in BBC show Waterloo Road. She has also starred in Coronation Street and Soldier, Soldier.

There are 30 species of sharks and rays on display at the aquarium, ranging from native bull huss and dogfish to exotic guitar sharks.
