A LITTLE SUTTON artist is proud to be expressing herself in a gallery exhibition.

Ceramicist Janet Holmes is displaying new work at Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham.

The two displays, called Nature Unplugged and Body and Soul, feature clay sculptures which embrace natural shapes and curves.

And on Friday, February 4, visitors will be able to watch the artist – who never glazes her clay, meaning her work keeps its earthy natural quality – at work.

The mother-of-two, who recently moved to Little Sutton, is overjoyed to be displaying at the Frodsham gallery after admiring it for years.

“I am really excited about it, I have never done an exhibit in Chester before,” she said.

“I visited the gallery and really loved the atmosphere. I always visit the galleries I am going to exhibit in, but it is like I am being drawn into Chester.”

Janet, who has worked with ceramics since she was 16, says her work is all about self-expression and getting people to relate to themselves.

“I would like people to come with an open mind and see how they feel about the pieces and what they personally get out of it,” she added.

The exhibition runs until February 21 in Gallery 3 at Castle Park Arts Centre.
