A horse whisperer is saddling up for a new career – as a glamour photographer for her four-legged friends.

Over the years Luisa Jones, from Little Neston, has used calming techniques to stop horses misbehaving.

But now the 40-year-old is stepping behind the camera to become a fully-fledged horse whispering photographer.

The photo shoots see riders dressed in ball gowns snapped with their horses, on beaches, cornfields, woods and stables across North Wales and the Wirral.

And Luisa believes her unique skills as a horse whisperer helps get the horses at their best – as she uses the techniques to put them at ease.

She said: “As a clinical hypnotherapist I have worked with horses and owners with confidence issues, but this is the ultimate confidence booster.

“Using my techniques I can relax a horse and get the best poses. It’s a wonderful experience for me and the client.”

Luisa, who says she has always enjoyed photography as a hobby, got the idea of combining her skills from her horse Zenna, who she has owned for 19 years.

“I don’t call myself a horse-whisperer, though that’s the common name for it,” she said.

“That term is very whimsical, when in actual fact what I do is a very practical science.”

Luisa, who started riding at three and takes her four-year-old daughter Ella riding, employs some unusual techniques to stop the horses getting bored during the two-hour shoots.

“It’s like working with a toddler. They have a short attention span so you have to keep them focused. I do everything from jumping up and down and stamping in puddles to get the ideal shot of them with their ears pricked forward.

“I will do whatever it takes to get that perfect shot and capture a beautiful memory for the client. I really couldn’t hope for a better job.”
