A BRICKLAYER has escaped a driving ban after pleading guilty to three offences at Vale Royal Magistrates Court.
Liam Woodward, 23, of Ash Road, Cuddington admitted failing to stop after and accident, failing to report an accident and driving without due care and attention at a hearing on Thursday.
Woodward already had six points on his licence and is now just one point away from an automatic ban after magistrates added another five.
Catherine Whincup, prosecuting, said the offences stemmed from an incident on September 5, when Woodward inadvertently drove his Ford Focus into the back of another car at traffic lights on the A556 Northwich bypass.
He spoke briefly to the other driver and agreed to pull over and meet him at Roberts Bakery, but he failed to appear.
Stephen Rodgers, defending, denied his client had spoken to the driver, and said he had driven off because he did not think any damage had been caused.
Woodward was also ordered to pay £158 in fines and court costs.
