FOLLOWING Wales' historic Six Nations Grand Slam, Nightingale House has received a very generous donation.

A Wales rugby shirt signed by opera star Katherine Jenkins, who along with Charlotte Church sang the Welsh National Anthem at the beginning of the match with Ireland that sealed the Grand Slam, has been put up for auction.

Neil Pattison, who works for Discount Domestics in Rhosddu, went to see Katherine in concert in Llandudno recently and she happily signed the shirt for him, as he was donating it to Nightngale House Hospice.

Neil said: 'I'm an avid Wales fan myself and knew that Katherine would be singing in the Milliennium Stadium. I hope the shirt will raise a lot of money for Nightingale House, which provides an essential service for the community. '

Menai Owen-Jones, community fundraiser for Nightingale House said: 'It is very kind of Neil to donate his shirt to raise funds for the hospice. We are now hoping the shirt will also be signed by members of the team to raise even more funds for Nightingale House. The shirt will be auctioned on the internet in the next few weeks.'
