VALIANT knights entertained visitors at Beeston Castle at the weekend.

The castle grounds were transformed to re-create the atmosphere and celebrations of a 15th century Lammas feast, which marked the first harvest festival of the year.

Felix Percival, 10, from Ellesmere Port donned a medieval knight’s outfit to get into the spirit of things.

The two-day festival opened with an archery tournament on Saturday before mounted knights demonstrated how accurate their skills are.

The story of George and the Dragon was retold in the afternoon with music and dancing bringing each day’s festivities to a close.
