HOMEOWNERS in Mid Cheshire are being advised to ensure their Christmas light displays are covered by their home insurance during the festive period.

Nationally, some £800m worth of outdoor light displays will be put up this year as some eight million householders illuminate their homes. But they can also be costly to repair – and may even pose a fire hazard.

Derbyshire Building Society is urging people to consider reviewing their home insurance policy to make sure their lights are covered.

Santa at horse centre

FATHER Christmas will make his last round of trips to Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre this week before his big night.

He will be meeting the centre’s young visitors, handing out presents and spreading festive cheer between 11am and 3pm on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, December 21-23.

Children are being invited to bring along their Christmas wish-list and give it to Santa in plenty of time for Christmas Day.

The centre is open every day from 10am and 5pm (last admission at 4pm). For more information, call 01829 760506 or visit www.cotebrookshire horses.co.uk.
