RESIDENTS are invited to share their views on proposed improvements in Ellesmere Port’s Westminster Park.

The council’s Greenspace team has been approached by park users, requesting new play equipment and improvements to sporting facilities, and proposals have been created to replace some of the old wooden play equipment with three new pieces specifically for toddlers.

Residents will also be asked to have their say on extending the sport pitch to add another goal and an extension of the tarmac playing surface to enable year round play.

An event has been organised for Saturday, June 29, from 11am-1pm, where residents can view plans for the two proposals, speak to members of the team and ensure their views are taken into consideration.

Local member, councillor Pat Merrick, said: “These proposed improvements for Westminster Park have come as a direct result of local residents sharing their community’s needs.

“The Greenspace team has managed to secure £35,000 for making improvements at the park – what we need to make sure now is that the current plans on the table best meet the needs of park users and I would urge anyone interested in the park to come along and have their say.”
