Despite cold weather, hundreds turned out to see candles lit or a light illuminated at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Backford.

Amanda Le Bretton, hospice fundraising and marketing manager, said: “We are overwhelmed by the amount of dedications received for Light up a Life each year and we are glad that loved ones can be remembered in such a meaningful way.

“We really do appreciate the kind donations received for this year’s Light up a Life appeal, which has helped to raise £33,000 for patient care at the hospice.”
