Staff at Hope Farm Pharmacy in Ellesmere Port have been getting behind today’s No Smoking Day (Wednesday).

The annual campaign, which has been running since 1983, seeks to highlight the benefits of giving up by triggering quit attempts.

Richard Stanhope, manager at Hope Farm Pharmacy, said: “It’s no secret that the benefits of quitting smoking are enormous, both in terms of health and your bank balance.

“No Smoking Day is not about bullying smokers into quitting, but instead providing a kick-start day for people who want to, or are seriously considering, quitting.

“A massive part of my role as a community pharmacist is to support anyone who wants to stop smoking. Quitting is a challenging thing to do and we’re here to guide our patients and help them to find what works for them.”
