YOUNG bookworms in Ellesmere Port are invited to a number of free reading and writing workshops during half-term.

A Harry Potter creative writing workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 19, from 11am-noon, when youngsters can put their magical knowledge to the test and try being a newspaper reporter.

Suitable for children aged seven and older, the free event at Ellesmere Port Library requires booking a place beforehand, which can be done by contacting the library.

And on Wednesday, February 20, children’s entertainer Carl Loughlin-Ravenscroft returns to the library as his alter-ego Grandpa Joe.

Ahead of an appearance on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in March, Grandpa Joe will be discussing stories and bringing fairy tales to life in his unique style.

Tickets to see Grandpa Joe cost £1 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult.

To book a place for either event, call into Ellesmere Port Library, telephone 0151 337 4684 or email libraries@cheshirewestandchester. gov.uk.
