LIVERPOOL FC shareholder Steve Morgan was among hundreds of guests evacuated today after fire ripped through a luxury hotel complex in Cheshire.

Fourteen fire engines were sent to the De Vere Carden Park hotel, near Chester, after flames were spotted on the roof this morning.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire fire service said all guests and staff have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

Mr Morgan, Liverpool's third largest shareholder, was among a group of businessmen evacuated.

The 750-acre estate boasts a hotel, Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses and spa.
