A PROLIFIC fundraiser is promising fun, glitz and glamour at her latest charity night.

Leanne Salisbury from Great Sutton, who has already raised more than £2,000 for The Teenage Cancer Trust from previous charity fundraisers, has found a rather cheeky way to collect cash for the cause – holding a burlesque night.

The 32-year-old who works as a biomedical scientist in histopathology at the Wirral University Teaching Hospital, will host the event at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Friday March 1 and so far on the bill are dancing, singing, magic, cocktails and cupcakes.

There will also be a large raffle offering prizes such as an overnight stay for two at Wirral’s Mere Brook House Hotel and special deals for ticket holders including a special Burlesque Beauty Package for just £30.

It is the second year Leanne has held a burlesque charity night in her quest to raise funds for both the Teenage Cancer Trust and Help a Capital Child.

Last year’s fundraiser was a sell-out and she hopes this year will be even better.

Leanne, mum to teenage son Zak, said: “It’s going to be an amazing night with so many great offers – tickets are only £10 and there are some fantastic offers open to ticket holders.

“Just some of them include Couture Chester offering a Shellac manicure and eyebrow wax and shape worth £37 for just £18 and taster massages from Hanna’s Beauty and Holistic Therapy for £5 with 50% of the proceeds going to charity.

“I’m hoping for as much support as I possibly can for the event,” she added.

Next month will be the culmination to Leanne’s fundraising challenge when she will walk along the Great Wall of China in a gruelling 10-day feat that has been entirely self-funded.

Tickets for the burlesque evening are available now, and can be purchased by contacting Leanne on 07540 085584 or Julie on 07412 287965.
