THE Grange School, Hartford, has had its position as one of the best-performing schools in the country confirmed with the publication of the Government’s latest post-16 league tables.

The Bradburns Lane school is the only A-Level school in England to feature in the top 50 for both its A-Level results and value-added score, which is based on sustained improvement.

In the Key Stage 5 table, The Grange was 29th for its results and 39th in the ‘added value’ calculation.

A spokesperson said the school’s GCSE performance is hampered by the Government’s non-acceptance of International GCSE maths, which the school takes in preference to normal GCSE maths.
