HELSBY High School are celebrating this year’s excellent GCSE results with 91% of the pupils passing a minimum of five A*-C grades.

Provisional analysis showed 98% gained five A*-G grades and 34 pupils achieved eight or more grades at A* or A.

Head teacher John Dowler said: "We are extremely proud of the successes and achievements of our students.

"These results reflect the hard work and talents of our students and staff as well as the support of the students’ families."

Particular congratulations go to the following pupils who gained an outstanding set of results at grade A* or A, including: Natasha Mannion, Hannah Bergstrand, Helen Elmes, Alexander Jones, Tom London, Hannah Gleave, Daniel Morgan, Cecilia Vinchenzo, Penny Leadbetter, Poppy Owen, Alexandra Sproson, Nina White, Sophie Lockett, Simon Stubbs, Benjamin Macinnes, Laura Pegler, Joseph Roberts, Nathan Rogers, Mark Halliwell and Laura Cunnife.
