Dear Brian

FIRST off I’d like to say thanks for taking the job in the first place.

It must have been a big decision to come down to the bottom of League Two when you’ve guided a club to fourth in the Premier League.

But I think we can help each other out. After a period out of football, you’ve got yourself back in the management game, and we are desperate for someone to come in, take stock, and push us away from the danger area.

You see Brian we need someone like you – someone with no previous ties with the club – to weed our squad and attract a few quality signings to make us really competitive.

Now to the big question, how long will you stay?

You’ve only got a deal to the end of the season, and I know you look at us as a stepping stone, but can we persuade you put down roots?

As you can see the facilities we have here are excellent, and the fans aren’t too bad either.

You had nearly 8,000 for the Chester game and a great away following that sung their hearts out against Rochdale and Bury.

On top of that there is some talent in the squad, and we’ve got a great youth development system.

To use a phrase which hasn’t been bandied about for a while, this club is a Sheeping Giant – everything is set up for someone to take us forward.

If that were you, then you’d always be a hero in lovely North Wales.

So please keep up the good work at Dagenham today and don’t pay any attention to those wags who are calling your style of play negative.

I’d be happy with two goalies and no strikers as long as we were mid-table come the end of the season!
