WREXHAM midfield general Darren Ferguson has landed himself in hot water with referee Mark Cowburn after being sent off during the 1-1 draw with Colchester at the Racecourse.

Collecting a second yellow card only 20 minutes after Martin Chalk had been dismissed for two bookable offences, the fiery Scotsman angrily kicked the ball towards the match official before leaving the field and the Blackpool official later confirmed he would be including the incident in his match report.

But the sendings off could not take the gloss off Wrexham's battling performance when they were reduced to nine men, and Flynn was delighted with the outcome, to say nothing of a wonderful equaliser from Trinidad international Carlos Edwards.

Goalscorer Edwards dedicated his strike to the club's supporters, saying: "I just kept running and it all opened up for me. It was a great feeling to score and see the delight on the faces of the fans. They really got behind us today and we all appreciated their support."
