THIS year’s Boxing Day games had an average attendance of 452, 22% down on last season when gates averaged 581.
Caersws had the highest attendance of the day with 835 for their 1-0 derby victory over Newtown. Bangor City‘ were the next highest as a crowd of 709 turned out for their 5-1 win over Caernarfon Town, although that figure was well below the anticipation of Citizens boss Nev Powell, who had hoped for 1,500 at least.
There were 345 at Talwrn Road in Llangefni as the Anglesey-based side were slammed 4-1 by Porthmadog. Despite having one of the largest visiting support in the League, Rhyl's trip to Connah's Quay Nomads was witnessed by just 258 as the free-falling Nomads were slammed 5-0 by the Lilywhites.
The lowest attendance of the Boxing Day programme was at the Airfield, as the Wingmakers enticed just 142 for their match against Newi Cefn Druids, won 3-2 by the hosts.
