Essar Oil staff celebrated their third anniversary at Stanlow with a £7,100 present to Claire House Children’s Hospice.

A spokesperson from the company explained: “Essar Oil UK decided to recognise the fantastic work done by Claire House Children’s Hospice by supporting the charity’s activities by choosing to ‘Pay for a Day’.”

The charity is well known to staff at the refinery which has previously supported the hospice through both personal and corporate fundraising.

Essar pledged £6,600 to meet a day’s running costs at the hospice and staff at the refinery raised a further £500 on the day itself.

Site manager Jon Mason presented the company’s cheque to Angela Rawsthorne, Cheshire Corporate Fundraiser at Claire House.

The hospice said: “We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the team from Essar Oil for their continued support.”

The hospice provides respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults with life-limiting medical conditions and their families.
