THE return of TV’s hit celebrity show Strictly Come Dancing may help Ellesmere Port residents quickstep their way to fitness.

Instructors at EPIC Leisure Centre are launching a new exercise class in conjunction with the show’s dance stars Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite.

Celebrity Strictly contestant and former world champion swimmer Mark Foster has also been involved in perfecting the fitness benefits of the class, called Fitsteps.

Former ballet dancer and fitness instructor, Chris Stones, from Ellesmere Port, will launch the Fitsteps evening class on Tuesday, September 24.

The exercise regimes are inspired by the most popular Latin and ballroom dances with elements of jive, cha cha, samba, tango, waltz and quickstep.

Brio health and fitness manager Bev Pentland, said: “Dances are broken down into easily learnable sections so it’s great for all abilities of fitness.”
