A BEAUTICIAN from Ellesmere Port is mourning the death of her stepbrother, found drowned in a hotel lake.

Haydn Mark Evans had been missing for two weeks after disappearing at a work Christmas party at Carden Park Hotel on Friday, December 16.

Police underwater search teams discovered his body late on Friday afternoon.

A post-mortem examination on Saturday confirmed police suspicions it was Mr Evans, from Mold, and that he had died by drowning.

Mr Evans’s heartbroken sister Jade Conway is a beautician living in Ellesmere Port, offering nails and tanning treatments.

She thanked people for their support on Twitter.

She wrote: “Thank u everyone for your kind messages about my brother #haydnevans who we have sadly lost. sad times but thank u to all who helped us. Xx”

The family lit sky lanterns and fireworks to remember Haydn.

Mrs Conway later added: “They don’t think it’s suspicious, but we still have questions that need answering.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Haydn’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“The thoughts and condolences of all officers and staff who work for Cheshire Constabulary are with Haydn’s family and friends at this very sad time.

“The Constabulary would like to thank the local community and all those who have helped in the search for Haydn and would ask on behalf of the family that they are allowed time to grieve for Haydn in private.”

Police search teams, supported by lowland search and rescue teams, underwater search units, dog patrols and air support, had been combing the area of the A41 around Broxton since Mr Evans vanished.
