Ellesmere Port Running Club member finishes London Marathon in less than three hours

AN Ellesmere Port Running Club member celebrated his 50th birthday in style by completing Sunday’s London Marathon in less than three hours.

AN Ellesmere Port Running Club member celebrated his 50th birthday in style by completing Sunday’s London Marathon in less than three hours.

Paul Robertson finished the testing 26-mile course in two hours, 59 minutes and 55 seconds.

Paul’s clubmate Julia Fidler was making her debut at the big annual event and she could be proud of her time of 4.19:25s.

West Cheshire AC members were out in force, with Neil McIntyre (3.33:04) followed by Tom Kennedy (3.39:00), Lisa Davies (3.45:10), Brian Beattie (3.54:05) and Bob Benson (4.01:00).

Chris Rhodes suffered a fall after eight miles and was unable to continue.
