A BREAST cancer survivor met Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Andrew Miller at an event to promote awareness at the Houses of Parliament.

Ellesmere Port campaigner Celia Webber attended Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s 13th annual Westminster Fly-In event to support the charity’s call to save lives through increasing awareness, promoting early diagnosis and providing access to treatment.

Celia, who is part of Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s Campaign and Advocacy Network, met Mr Miller at the charity’s annual lobbying event to show MPs how they can help influence the NHS and help breast cancer patients by increasing awareness of the signs and symptoms.

In turn, they hope early diagnosis will drive early diagnosis and ensure access to the best possible screening services for eligible women.

Mr Miller said: “The NHS needs to take action to ensure everyone has access to the best possible treatments and make breast cancer survival a reality.”

Celia said: “I’m thrilled that Andrew Miller is supporting our work in ensuring that women receive the best possible information, diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer. 1,000 lives could be saved every year in England alone if breast cancer survival rates matched the best in Europe.”
