A GET fit campaign has reaped rewards for two exercise fans.

Businessman Mike Waring, 66, and Marks & Spencer store assistant Tracey Walters, 47, were the lucky winners of an Olympic-inspired campaign at Neston Recreation Centre and the EPIC Leisure Centre in Ellesmere Port.

Mike, from Greasby, won an iPad while Tracey, from Neston, picked up a year’s free membership to Brio Leisure facilities across Cheshire.

The Summer of Sport promotion encouraged centre users to take part in at least 20 exercise sessions during the summer. Customers were given a loyalty card which, when completed, were entered in a free prize draw for hundreds of pounds worth of gifts.

A similar campaign, aimed at younger centre users, was also carried out.

Mike said: “It was a great surprise to hear I’d won. I’ve been using the centre for a number of years, at least five times a week. It’s convenient but I also love the social aspect of coming here and meeting up with other people.”

Jon Kelly, Brio’s group facilities manager for Ellesmere Port and Neston, said: “The promotion was inspired by the Olympics. We wanted as many people as possible to enjoy the facilities and see what the benefits of taking part in sports and exercise can have on their health and well-being.

“It’s one of a number of promotions we’ll be running over the next few months to help keep users motivated.”
