THE mayor of Ellesmere Port dropped in for a Fairtrade cuppa at Our Lady’s Parish Centre in the town.

The event was organised by Traidcraft speaker Ricki Montgomery of St Thomas’ Church, to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

Cllr Angela Claydon said: “I enjoyed the brew very much indeed. The flavour of Fairtrade tea has improved enormously since we used to have it at school.”

Linda Montgomery, who laid out a large range of Fairtrade products for sale, said: “This was a successful event and I hope it will encourage everyone to buy Fairtrade products, which have the distinctive logo, from the shops.”
