A SELF-CONFESSED Titanic fanatic is retracing the tragic ship’s fateful voyage on the 100th anniversary of its sinking.
PE teacher Mal Jones, of Juniper Drive, Great Sutton, departed Southampton on Sunday and will stop at the exact spot where the great vessel came to its icy end on April 14.
Mr Jones, who received his ticket as a birthday present, teaches PE in Rossmore, Woodfall, Little Sutton and Acorns primary schools.
The Titanic Memorial Cruise on the MS Balmoral has 1,309 paying passengers and relatives of those who lost their lives on the ship – the same number that sailed on the Titanic – from 30 different countries.
