Ellesmere Port football team raises £400 for elderly care home residents

FOOTBALL team Capenhurst Villa have raised more than £400 for Astbury Lodge.

The funds were raised for the comfort fund through charity presentations and raffles and will provide money for resident entertainment and trips.

The football team chose to donate the money to the Great Sutton care home as they have close links with Bev Johnson, a cook and care assistant at the home.

Astbury Lodge manager Steve Maddock said: “I’d like to thank the generous lads from the football team for raising the money for the home – it makes a big difference to the lives of our residents and means we can plan even more exciting activities and outings.”
