THE newly formed Ellesmere Port branch of the Older People’s Network held its second meeting recently.

The speaker was Jenny Jobber, who gave a talk on Understanding Dementia. Many questions were answered helpfully about the condition.

This was followed by a session of easy exercises, able to be done from sitting in a chair, which produced a great deal of hilarity.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, July 20, at 1.30pm at Ellesmere Port Fire Station.

The speaker will be a podiatrist who will talk the problems and the care of feet.

The Older People’s Network is a user-led organisation, which has the value of older people speaking up for older people. It is supported by Cheshire West and Chester Council and is consulted on council policies affecting older people.

As the branch in Ellesmere Port is new, the group would like to increase its membership. It is free to join.

If you are interested in joining, call Beverley Wilson on 01244 972176 or email Beverley.Wilson@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
