TICKETS for the LDV Vans Trophy final will go on sale at the Racecourse on Sunday to season ticket holders only.
Wrexham have received an initial allocation of 13,700 tickets for the Millennium Stadium showpiece on Sunday, April 10 and the Football League has provisionally set aside a further 5,000 to meet the demand estimated by club officials.
Fans will be able to purchase up to five tickets each next week on production of season tickets, and the remainder of the allocation will go on general sale from Sunday, March 20.
Racecourse secretary Geraint Parry said: "This is a totally new experience for us and our initial estimate of ticket sales is 15,000. We are confident we will sell out our allocation and our opponents Southend - who sold 20,000 when they took part in last year's final - are sure they will sell as many again.
"It's unusual for season ticket holders to be able to buy more than one ticket each, but we are conscious that this is a special occasion and one that not only fans but their families too will want to enjoy together.
"The ticket office will be open on Sunday from 10am and during normal office hours in the week. It will not be open on Saturday March 19, but the general sale of tickets will commence the following day."
The club are also accepting postal applications for tickets, which must be accompanied by a cheque payable to The Football League and a self-addressed envelope.
Because the club is currently in administration no credit card payment facilities are available at the Racecourse, and only cash or cheques will be accepted.
Pointing out that the club has very few administrative staff, Parry appealed for supporters to be patient.
"This is a very big operation for us and it's all very new," he said.. "But we have got four weeks in which to sell the tickets and there should be plenty to go round. We are appealing to supporters not to inundate our already busy staff with telephone enquiries for tickets, but to read the papers and the club's website for the latest information."
Parry said new club merchandise - including a replica shirt similar to that which will be worn by the players in the final - will also be available in the coming weeks and promised further details as they became available.
Wrexham's main sponsor, travel agency Just Go, is co-ordinating the club's travel arrangements for fans and will offer a variety of packages including day trips and weekend breaks. All deals will be inclusive of match tickets and Just Go will be setting up a call centre to take card bookings by phone.
Parry added: "Hopefully our appearance in the LDV Vans Trophy final will encourage football fans throughout Wales to come along and support us."
