THE world is full of fabulous dive sites, but one of the most interesting has been created in cyberspace with the expertise of a man from Mid Cheshire.
Divemaster Daniel Nixon has taken his scuba skills to the Internet with the launch of a dive website.
Web designer Andy Stobie, of Graingers Road, Leftwich, used his expertise to produce the official website for Daniel, who runs Atlantis Aquatic Sports Instruction.
Daniel, 33, has been a professional dive instructor since 1997 and launched his training centre earlier this year.
He offers dive, sail and powerboat instruction and a full range of products, which he hopes will appeal to a wider clientele through his website.
Daniel, of Woodford Lane, Winsford, said: 'I have looked at all the dive websites and can honestly say this is the best one in the UK.
'I really wanted something which was a bit different, rather than just a list of prices. The site is not all about selling products, it also has a philosophy. I wanted it to have an environmental conscience.'
The Atlantis site has a page devoted to Greenpeace and Daniel donates five per cent of profits from the sale of all his products to the charity, helping to protect the world's oceans.
When he first started the project, Andy, 28, was uninitiated in scuba diving, but he took to designing the site like a duck to water.
Andy said: 'I have pushed back the boundaries, getting things to download more quickly and widening the number of images.'
One of the best features of the site is the in-depth look at products.
People have the opportunity to see exactly what they are buying through pages devoted to technical details and equipment quality.
The site offers people the chance to book diving, sailing and power boat courses, or arrange holidays abroad.
And for the braver divers out there, Daniel is currently organising a trip to see the great white shark in action off the coast of South Africa.
The Atlantis website features in specialist dive and sailing magazines next month. To visit the site log onto www.diveatlantis.net
