DINOSAURS are preparing to face extinction once again after more than 300,000 people visited them in Chester this summer.
Dinosaurs at Large! finishes on October 8 and Chester Zoo is heralding the prehistoric visitors as the ‘most exciting exhibition ever’.
More than 300,000 people have seen T-rex, triceratops and raptors, with visitor numbers in July increasing by 16% on last year. However, the zoo has yet to decide whether the 13 animated models will return.
Will Condliffe of the zoo said the exhibition had shown people the value of conservation.
“Dinosaurs at Large! has proved to be one of the most exciting exhibitions to ever feature in a zoo in the UK and is the biggest event in Chester Zoo’s history,” he said.
“The feedback we’ve had from visitors has been excellent. The dinosaurs have really captured people’s imaginations and offered something completely different.”
