Community leader’s lights switch-on

Councillor funds Christmas lights in Childer Thornton

Cllr Myles Hogg has once again funded Christmas lights on the tree in the amenity area at the junction of the A41 and School Lane in Childer Thornton

A village is once again enjoying Christmas lights backed by a borough councillor.

Willaston and Thornton ward councillor Myles Hogg (Con) has once again funded Christmas lights on the tree in the amenity area at the junction of the A41 and School Lane in Childer Thornton.

Cllr Hogg performed the grand switch on and residents and parents were entertained by Childer Thornton Primary School choir which sang Christmas carols.

The funding for the lights came from Cllr Hogg’s member budget.

“The Christmas lights switch on has, I am happy to say, become an annual event,” he said.

“We all enjoyed singing along with the choir and I believe the village's Christmas festivities 2013 were launched in a memorable way.”
