In a report last week about the use of Tasers by Cheshire police in Northwich, The Chronicle incorrectly stated that Mr Stuart Williamson had pleaded guilty to assault and affray.
We are happy to confirm Mr Williamson had not made a plea in court in response to the allegations. On Monday the case was sent to Crown Court for hearing.
Mr Williamson has also asked us to point out that he did not threaten children during the incident in Granville Road, Leftwich, which gave rise to the charges.
The Chronicle apologises to Mr Williamson and his family for any distress caused.
