OLDER people in Mid Cheshire are at last being catered for by a consultancy set up to meet the needs of mature consumers.

Businessman Brian Roberts, of Frodsham, has joined forces with four of the region’s most experienced communications and marketing professionals to set up a consultancy specialising in the over-50s consumer market.

The venture – launching this week under the name Generation Communications Partnership – is the result of many years of research into the needs of mature consumers.

Mr Roberts, who previously worked at G&J Greenall, De Vere Hotels and Bass plc, will work with North West companies and organisations to help target a UK market which represents £250billion of consumer spending every year.

He said: “In an age which seems obsessed with youth marketing – young advertising and marketing executives talking to young brand managers and marketing directors – there are a growing number of organisations who are not getting the right kind of expert, focused advice on how to market their products or services to the ‘mature’.

“We know how to help them because we, ourselves, are mature consumers with a lifetime of experience in the areas of marketing, PR, journalism and sales promotion.

“We’ve already been around for a long time, and we expect to be around for a lot longer yet.”

Research shows the over-50s have more disposable income than any other consumer group... and are happy to spend it.
