RENOWNED Danish percussionist Birger Sulsbrück will be performing in Davenham later this month as part of the first of arts group DAN’s upcoming jazz concerts.

The inaugural Jazz at the Players night also features Apitos Pequena – a six-piece Latin band inspired by jazz and salsa greats including Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Tito Puente.

The concert, at Davenham Players on Church Street on Thursday, January 22, is the first in a series of jazz nights planned by DAN (Development of the Arts in Northwich).

Special guest Birger has worked as a professional drummer since 1971, playing jazz, rock, pop and Latin American music, and has played and taught percussion for more than 30 years.

Tickets for the inaugural Jazz at the Players concert, priced £8 and £6 concessions, are on sale now. To book or for more information call Nick Hughes in the DAN office at Northwich Library, Witton Street, on 01606 41597.
